Best launchers for Android: Android applications for launchers have long been an integral part of the Android experience. If you don’t like how your home screens look or act, you can simply download an application to change it completely. There is no doubt that Android applications for starters have a much more diverse set of features than any other application genre and you can really do amazing things with these applications. Let’s take a look at the best! Google Now Launcher is closing its doors in 2019. That’s why it no longer appears on this list. That makes us very sad. We would also include a Google Pixel Launcher list if it were available for more than a handful of devices.
01. Action Launcher
Action Launcher has long been a favorite Android launcher of our readers. It comes with a common Android feeling. However, there are some additional features that add uniqueness. Quicktheme allows you to customize the colors of your user interface based on your wallpaper. Shutters allows you to view the widget of an application without setting one on the home screen. It even has theming and personalization elements to make your phone feel more like Android Oreo. There is also support for icons, frequent updates and much more. There is a lot that I like about this. Even the application drawer is configurable.
02. ADW Launcher 2
ADW Launcher used to be on this list until the developer stopped supporting. However, with the release of ADW Launcher 2, it was an obvious choice to add it back to the list. This includes an updated user interface that best fits Android. In addition, there are initiator shortcuts, many customization options, extensions and tons of other modern functions. It also has one of the best “do it yourself” functions we’ve seen. It has regained its rightful place among the elite Android launcher. You can download it for free or pick up the pro version as an in-app purchase for $ 3.49.
03. Apex Launcher best launchers for Android
Apex Launcher has been around for a long time and remains one of the most iconic Android launcher applications. Like Action Launcher, its goal is to offer a stock aspect of Android with some additional features for a good measure. These include the ability to alter things like transition animations, travel habits, and there is even a scroll dock where you can place many icons. Apex Launcher also includes a theme engine. The developer is in the middle of greatly improving the launcher. Those who try it can expect big changes in 2019.
04. Atom Launcher
Atom Launcher is another newer Android startup application that is moving in the right direction. It comes with a theme creator and you can also find a variety of themes for it in the Google Play Store. It also comes with gesture controls, a hidden dock with additional settings, integrated widgets, icon support and other settings and customizations. It is light and efficient, but it has enough features to make it competitive. You can download it and use it for free. That way, you can see if you like it before launching for the pro version.
05. EverythingMe Launcher best launchers for Android
EverythingMe Launcher closed and left the Play Store in 2015. They returned to the Play Store in January 2019. It’s great news because it’s a very decent Android launcher. It has many smart functions. There are smart folders that automatically categorize your applications. It also has a contextual source of things like notifications, missed calls, calendar events and more. The application requires a little to know your habits. What happens is that it works very well once it does. You can use the free launcher.
06. Evie Launcher
Evie Launcher is one of our selections for the best Android apps of 2016. It is a lightweight and fast Android launcher with some unique features. Use the Pixel Launcher-style app drawer that you can slide from the bottom of the screen. It also comes with support for icon packs, an offline mode, and you can change things like the grid size on the home screen. Evie Launcher even has items like unread badges, widget customization and more. It is totally free to download without in-app purchases.
07. Launcher 8 best launchers for Android
Launcher 8 is a unique initiator because it is nothing like Android. In fact, the sole purpose of this launcher is to make your phone look like a Windows phone. With this, you can turn your widgets into live mosaics in the style of Windows Phone and create virtually the same experience you would find in Windows Phone. Except, you know, with a running YouTube application. It also comes with a handful of other features making it a very solid Android launcher application. The initiator can be downloaded for free.
08. Lawnchair Launcher
Lawnchair Launcher is one of the newest Android launcher applications. It is an open source project that mimics much of the Pixel Launcher’s appearance. It has many similar features to the Pixel Launcher along with some others. These features include icon support, Android Oreo shortcuts and notification points, integration with Google Now (with optional and free plugin), customizable icons and other customizations. It is still new and also in beta. However, it already works better than most pitchers. It is also free without advertising or in-app purchases.
09. Lightning launcher best launchers for Android
10. Microsoft Launcher
Microsoft Launcher is not a new launcher. The application used to be Arrow Launcher. Microsoft changed the brand of the application in mid-2019. The application features integration with many Microsoft services, including its calendar, email, task list application and direct integration with Microsoft PC. It also has customization functions and gesture controls. This returned to beta after the brand change. Therefore, there are likely to be some errors for now. However, it is something different and especially useful for those who want better integration with their Windows PC.
11. Next Launcher 3D Shell
Next Launcher 3D Shell is by GO Dev. Those are the same people who do GO Launcher. It has 3D animations, a variety of transition effects. and some unique customization options. It also includes a scroll bar that allows you to rotate the home screens and find the one you are looking for. It is true that it is one of the most expensive Android launcher applications that exist. We will not blame you if the entry price is too high. However, you can try the application for free. In addition, you can obtain the most economical application if you purchase it as a purchase from the trial version instead of the independent application.
12. Nova Launcher
Not much better than Nova Launcher. Like Apex Launcher, Nova has existed since the good times. It remains not only relevant, but one of the best Android launcher application options available. It has a long list of customization features that include gesture support, the ability to customize the appearance of the application, icon support, themes and much, much more. The application is also updated at a dizzying pace, which means that errors are usually eliminated quickly and new features are added consistently. It also comes with the ability to backup and restore your home screen designs for when you finally switch to a new phone. It is what we recommend that you try first.
13. Smart Launcher 3
Smart Launcher 3 has been around for a while. It has also been updated quite a lot. Your biggest claim of fame is the various ways you can make your icons display. There is the classic flower shape, several other grids and more. In addition, you can have notifications on your home screen, a contextual search, many topics, support for add-ons and more. You can even hide applications behind a password lock if you wish. It has a good list of features. However, it does a great job to not feel bloated. You can download the application for free to try it.
14. TSF Launcher
TSF Launcher is one of the unique initiator applications. It offers a variety of customizations, including full gesture support. You can do many things that look great. However, it does not contribute so much to the table that other pitchers do not emulate to some extent. Still, it is very fun to use. Some of the additional features include 3D animations, an unlimited base bar, batch selections of things like icons on the home screen, widgets and more. It is completely free to download and use. It also has an additional add-on that adds app badges.
Yahoo’s Aviate Launcher is one of the unique initiator applications. It is also a wild card. It does some useful things, such as self-organizing applications into categories and includes some decent customization features. However, it does not follow the appearance or behavior of the traditional initiator. Some of the other features include Smart Stream, organizational features, climate integration and some other fun little features. It is not one of the top five, but it is definitely one of the 15 best Android launchers.
